Resources

Here you will find all the materials that can be downloaded, together with a short description. Some of the material can also be viewed directly. I anticipate adding material to this section as it becomes available.

You can transfer Word or PDF files to a Kindle (or a Kindle reader on a tablet or computer) for easier reading. Instructions as to how to do this are available here.

1. Natural Meditation

This is Charles Berner’s account of the meditation that he learned from his guru, Swami Kripalu. It is also known as Sahaj Yog or Surrender Yoga. The aim of this meditation is to prepare the body for the awakening of kundalini so as to achieve a lasting transformation. The full yogic path requires adherents to start by following the Yamas and Niyamas and to have experience of the Divine. In its pure form it is a renunciate path. However it is possible to combine this practice with remaining in the world.

2. The Long Intensive Manual

This is a manual I initially wrote in 1999, updated in 2006 and to which I have recently added a few further updates. It is referenced in a number of places on this website. It can be downloaded below. Alternatively it can be read, chapter by chapter, on this website by clicking on the title above. The references to the manual on the website are often to specific chapters .

3. The Inner Guide Meditation

This is one of the processes described in the Tools section of the website. One of my uses of this process is described in detail near the beginning of Chapter 4 of Who I am. The book describing the process, its origins and some of the problems in using it, is out of print. I have therefore included a PDF file of the book here. You can download it by clicking the download button below.

4. Tell Me Who You Are

I wrote this book in 1985. It was read and approved by Charles Berner in 1986 and self-published in 1988. It was the first book entirely devoted to the Enlightenment Intensive. You can download part 1, as a PDF file, by clicking on button below.

5. Explorations into God

This is a remarkable talk, given by Brother David Steindl-Rast at a meeting at Big Sur, California in 1984. It is one of the chapters in Entheogens and the Future of Religion Ed. R.Forte, Council on Spiritual Practices 1997. It is included here for the clarity with which it describes the benefits and dangers of a renunciate path. You can download it by clicking on the button below or you can read it on screen by clicking here.

6. Immunity to Change

This is one of the processes included in the Tools section. It is recommended that you download these instructions (by clicking on the button below), printing them out and then working your way through the process when you have at least 30 minutes of uninterrupted time available.

7. The Spiritual Significance of Relationships.

This is a chapter from Creating Union: The essence of Intimate Relationship by Eva Pierrakos and Judith Saly, Pathwork Press, 1993 (and later editions). Each chapter is a separate talk channelled by Eva Pierrakos. The original was in German. The book, Creating Union, is still available to purchase. To download this chapter click on the button below; to read it now click here.
